Lattimore Community Surgicenter
Lattimore Community Surgicenter
currently serves as an outpatient surgical
center for both private community surgeons and surgeons affiliated with the
University of Rochester Medical Center. The facility serves a diverse patient
population ranging in age from two months to over ninety years in age. Patients
who are ASA classification I, II, and III form the basis of our practice at
Lattimore. 75-80% of cases done there are orthopedic, with the balance being
gynecologic, ENT, Plastic, and General surgery. We administer between 4000 to
5000 anesthetics per year divided between regional, general and monitored
anesthesia care. The majority of regional cases are upper extremity plexus
blocks. We have added ultrasound-guided nerve blocks, which will increase the
safety and efficiency of our regional anesthesia service at Lattimore. Senior
residents this year will spend 2 weeks learning ultrasound-guided regional
anesthesia. The center is staffed by attending anesthesiologists who medically
direct nurse anesthetists, senior residents and fellows. Advanced training for
senior residents and fellows in regional anesthesia is available by mutual
agreement between the director of anesthesiology at Lattimore and the residency
director.
Stefan Lucas is the Anesthesia Director.
Alison Vogt is the Medical Director and
Niels Lund
substitutes for either the anesthesia or medical director in their absence.
Dr. Jacek Wojtczak and
Dr. Jacalyn Cytryn are
increasingly present to provide regional blocks.
